Spokesperson to the President former Senator Farhatullah Babar has said that the President and the Co-Chairman of the Party Mr Asif Ali Zardari has directed that no festivities and no cutting of cakes will be held on his birthday Sunday july 26.

Sunday July 26 marks 54th birthday of the President.

Farhatulla Babar said that the Party Co Chairman has directed that on the occasion instead of festivities prayers be offered for the country, the Party, Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutton, the children and the people of Pakistan particularly the dowtrodden and dispossessed. The gatherings and functions held by Party organizations within the country and abroad will reiterate their commitment to democracy, the Party’s principles and manifesto and to the alleviation of sufferings of the people, he said.

He said that Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhuttos birthday this year was also celebrated in this manner and the President feels that this is the way she would have wanted to celebrate.
