Director General ISPR Major General Athar Abbas on Friday made it clear that formal confirmation regarding killing of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan Chief Baitullah Mehsud cannot be made as we have no substantial evidence in this regard.

While talking to Online on Friday, Director General ISPR Major General Athar Abbas said that we have information regarding the killing of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan Chief Baitullah Mehsud but no solid/relevant evidence hence we cannot confirm his killing at the moment.

He was of the view that some time is required for confirmation of killing of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan Chief Baitullah Mehsud.

He further added that next 24 to 48 hours are critical in knowing the exact position in which we are to say that Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan Chief Baitullah Mehsud is killed/not killed thus confirmed or contradict in this regard.

Supreme Commander banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan Baitullah Mehsud is believed to be killed along with his wife and bodyguards in a drone strike two days ago in Ladha area of South Waziristan.
