US Special Representative for Pakistan and Afghanistan Richard Halbrooke has made it clear that Former President Musharraf is history and US would not rescue him.

Long lingering issue of Kashmir is bilateral matter between Pakistan and India and they should resolve their issue themselves, he said this while talking to senior journalists here on Wednesday.

The meeting between Pakistani Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani and Indian Premier Dr. Manmohan Singh was positive development, he said.

Pakistan and India haves been facing terrorism since 1974 and terrorists and extremist are common enemies of both countries, he said. US, he said, is helping Pakistan and India in accordance with their requirements. Supreme Commander Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan Baitullah Mehsud is a common enemy of Pakistan, India and US, he said. Baitullah Mehsud is a very bad man, he said.

When asked about Former President Gen. (Retd) Pervez Musharraf, he said, he was President of Pakistan and now he is a private citizen and US would not interfere in Pakistan’s internal matter.
Musharraf is history and US would not rescue him, he said, adding that, US respects Pakistan’s judiciary and US would not interfere whatever decision to be taken by Supreme Court against Former President Gen. (Retd) Pervez Musharraf.

We are not dictating Pakistan army to launch operation against militants in South and North Waziristan. The operation has to be taken by Pakistan army against militants, he said. We are not mounting pressure on Pakistan army to launch operation against militants in South and North Waziristan, he said.

He said he has held talks with Former Premier Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and he and President Asif Ali Zardari have complete harmony on strategy to resolve Balochistan issue.
He said his meeting with Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani was useful and productive in which the Premier has raised the issue of drone strike by saying it has greater political fallout in Pakistan.

US Special representative for Pakistan and Afghanistan said US respects Pakistan sovereignty and territorial integrity. He said Pak-Afghan border situation were also discussed during his meeting with Premier, he said.

He said he also met Chief of the Army Staff Gen. Ashfaq Pervez Kiyani and during the meting Director General Inter Service Intelligence Lt Gen. Shuja Pasha and Gen. Mustafa were present.
US supports democracy and expression of freedom in Pakistan and President Asif Ali Zardari is elected Pakistan’s head of state, he said, added, President Asif Ali Zardari and Former Premier Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif is unanimous against terrorism and extremism.

Pakistan’s military establishment is very strong, he said in response to a question. IDPs should get complete security, he said.

Access of Pakistani products in US market is very complicated issue and it can not be resolved immediately but US would work in this respect, he said. Replying to another question, he said, US is working on strategy to pull out from Afghanistan but we can not give time frame in this respect.

Complete Patrolling of Pakistan-Afghan border can not be done, he said. Later, he announced immediate 165 million dollars for rehabilitation of IDPs and reconstruction of war affected areas of Swat and Buner.

Out of 165 million dollars, US $ 23 million would be used for reconstruction of schools in Swat and Buner while US $ 45 million for basic infrastructure, US $ 30 million for community development schemes US $ 25 million for returning of IDPs and others needs.
