Chief banned Tehrik Maulana Sufi Muhammad surfaces again

Chief banned Tehrik Nifaz-i-Shariah Muhammadi (TNSM) Maulana Sufi Muhammad has surfaced again and there were reports of chairing a council meeting by him in Peshawar.

Closed aide and new spokesperson of TNSM, Iqbal Khan while talking to a private TV channel said that Sufi Muhammad met leadership of TNSM and discussed operation and Malakand situation.

Iqbal Khan who was among those met with Sufi Muhammad revealed that Sufi Mohammad is neither in government custody nor the Army but has been living in Peshawar for the last 20 days.

He said that Sufi Muhammad would finalize future strategy after convening the meeting of Majlis-e-Shoora soon. He disclosed that Sufi Muhammad was sick but now his health is better.

According to a private TV channel, son of TNSM Chief, Rizwan Ullah also confirmed that Chief TNSM has been living in Peshawar in a rented house.

Meanwhile, Spokesperson Awami National Party (ANP), Zahid Khan while talking to a private TV channel categorically stated that the NWFP Government neither arrested Chief banned TNSM nor detained him.

He said that the provincial government did not provide security to Sufi Muhammad and do not know his where about, adding the government would not allow anyone to challenge the writ of the government.
