Two including a police man killed, four injured in Rescue 15 suicide

At least two persons including a police man killed and four other wounded when a suicide bomber blew himself inside the Rescue 15 compound in sector G-8/4 of Islamabad.

DIG Operation, Binyamen told that suicide bomber skipped inside the premises of Rescue 15 compound situated in Sector G-8/4 from the rear side which was under construction. Naib Moharrer who first got his presence issued him warning to stop but suicide bombe keep on moving. As a result, he opened fired at suicide bomber but his suicide jacket went off when it received the bullet.

As a result, Naib Moharr Munwar and a constable Saleh ud Din embraced Shahadat while five police personnel injured. The injured were rushed to the nearby hospital PIMS. Two among the injured are reported to be in critical condition.

The ICT Administration and police immediately responded to the situation. Ambulances and fire brigades instantly reached the site and the injured were shifted to the hospitals with in no time. The injured were identified as ASI A nwar, Constable Tariq, Constable Imtaiz, Constable Ramzan and Constable Muhammad Tabeer. Soon after the incident the security forces and police cordoned off the entire area and started investigation. Sources said that the age of suicide bomber was between 20-21 years old. The body parts of suicide bomber have been collected and sent for investigation.

DIG Islamabad told that suicide bomber tried to enter inside the building from the backside of building and he wanted to enter inside Rescue 15 building. He said that one room completely destroyed in the attack.

Meanwhile, Dr. Wasim Khawaja of PIMS hospital while talking to media said that two dead bodies were brought to hospital. One of the dead body is in uniform while the other one is in civil uniform.

He further said that hospital administration is treating four injured while they are taking head injury of one patients seriously while another one policeman who has injury in the leg. A team of doctors is busy in providing them treatment and all four injured will remain under doctors' observation, he added.

Meanwhile, President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani, Federal Minister for Interior, Rehman Malik, and Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif have strongly condemned the incident.

President Asif Ali Zardari said that terrorists are running and carrying out attacks in bewildering manner. Terrorists have been defeated and they in depressed.

Prime Minister in his separate message has strongly condemned the suicide blast at Rescue 15, Islamabad on Saturday in which two policemen have lost their lives and five officials were injured. He directed the concerned authorities to investigate the incident and submit a report in this regard.

Terming this suicide blast a cowardly act of terrorism, the Prime Minister reiterated his government's resolve to stamp out the menace of militancy and terrorism adding that such incidents will not deter the government's commitment to eliminate this scourge from country.
The Prime Minister also commended the gallantry of the police officials who bravely saved the life of other people by sacrificing their own lives in the terror attack. He expressed his heartfelt condolences and sincere sympathies to the bereaved families and prayed for the eternal peace of the departed souls.

The Prime Minister directed the hospital authorities to provide best medical facilities to the injured and wished their early recovery.

Meanwhile, Federal Interior Minister while talking to private TV Channel said that security is on high alert and government taking all out measures to ensure maximum security.

He said that terrorists are targeting security personnel and innocent people. He further said that suicide bomber might belong to those 50 suicide bombers sent by Bait Ullah Mehsud.

In response to a question he said that government condemned drone attacks at all levels.
